-A survey by the Retail Consumer Goods Research Institute (IELKA) showed 55% of respondents said they have cut purchases on food and groceries, 48% have changed the purchases of brand products and 28% used savings to cover their expenses.
-Greece’s adjusted unemployment rate edged down to 9.2% in December 2023, the lowest since May 2009, compared to November’s 9.4%, according to the Greek Statistical Authority’s (ELSTAT) seasonally adjusted figures.
-Last month, inflation in Greece fell to 3.2% from 3.7% in December, while in the Eurozone, it dropped to 2.8% from 2.9%, preliminary data from Eurostat showed.
CAPITAL MARKET
The initial public offering of a 30% stake in Athens International Airport attracted strong demand, as investors’ orders topped 8.6 billion euros, the airport said in a statement on Friday. Institutional investors were allocated 86.44% of shares while 13.56% went to the Greek public.
