ECONOMY

-A total of 65.9% Greek e-shoppers spent less money on clothing and shoes in 2023 compared to 2022, while 45.5% said that prices had increased significantly, the annual “Fashion (Re)search” review by the European fashion search platform GLAMI revealed.

-Greeκ banks will charge a fee of €0.50 per month to each deposit account of natural persons. The fixed fee will only concern the maintenance of deposit accounts that have the ability to make payments, have debit and credit cards, transfer funds, etc. in.gr and other media reported. Ordinary savers are excluded.

-The finance ministry, in a decision published in the Government Gazette on Jan. 31, has extended the deadline for the mandatory installation of POS terminals for 35 classes of businesses until Feb. 29.

-Greece scored 49 points out of 100 (below the baseline) on the 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index reported by Transparency International. The index scores countries on a scale of zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (clean) with the average score just 43 out of 100.
