ECONOMY
-Greece’s economic sentiment index decreased to 104.8 points in October from 107.7 in January, the lowest level of the last 14 months, the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) said.
-Bank of Greece (BoG) will distribute a dividend of 13.3 million euros to its shareholders this year for the fiscal year 2023, it said on Monday. The Bank’s net income of financial year 2023 stood at 543.6 million euros, compared with 885.1 million in the previous year.
-The sale of a 27% stake in Piraeus Bank by the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSH) was met with strong demand by investors on Monday and has already been oversubscribed. The sale will be concluded by March 6.
-The Athens International Airport (IAA) saw a 26.6% increase in revenues and a 37.8% increase in profits after tax for the year 2023, which corresponds to total revenue and other income increase of 126.8 million euros and after-tax profits of 231.5 million euros. The distribution of a residual gross dividend of 0.33 euros per share will be proposed to the Annual General Meeting.
CAPITAL MARKET
Athens Stock Exchange is at the top of the world market ranking in the first two months of 2024. Its General Price index (+10.18%) ranked fourth among the major global indices after Istanbul’s BIST 100 (+23, 07%), Tokyo’s Nikkei (+17.11%) and the VN30 index of the Vietnam stock market (11.87%), AMNA reported.

-More than 250,000 square meters of new logistics buildings are estimated to be delivered by 2024 in Greece, with private investors leading the way, To Vima reported.

TOURISM
In March 2024, hotel prices in Athens, increased according to the Trivago Hotel Price Index. The Greek capital witnesses an average price of 136 euros, a notable increase from 115 euros in February (18.3%) and 119 euros in the same month last year (14.3%).
