ECONOMY
-A new record of 1,952 out-of-court settlements was recorded in July 2024, in Greece, with the resolved private sector cases corresponding to a nominal value of 518 million euros, according to the finance ministry.
-Alpha Bank’s net profit stood at €322.5 million in H1 2024, up 6.6% on an annual basis and the lender also reported the first dividend to shareholders since 2007. In addition, Alpha Bank regained its investment grade rating from Moody’s after 14 years.
-Increased production this year is expected to lower olive oil prices, the president of the National Interprofessional Olive Oil Organization (EDOE), Manolis Giannoulis, told state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency.

-Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (AIA) served approximately 3.61 million passengers in July, up 9.3% on an annual basis.
-Thirty-nine international hotel chains, independent of tour operators, are currently present in Greece, managing 205 hotels with a total of 29,204 rooms, according to the “Greek Hospitality Industry Performance 2024 Q2” report by GBR Consulting.
