-A new survey by the Research Institute of Retail Consumer Goods (IELKA) shows significant changes in the consumption habits of households in Greece, as a result of inflation: One in two Greeks intends to skip a summer holiday this year.

-Almost three out of four Greeks (72.5%) have bank deposits of no more than EUR 1,000 while 0.7% of households and businesses have deposits of more than €100,000 each, Kathimerini reported.

-The painting ‘May’ by Yiannis Tsarouchis (1910-1989) was sold for EUR 475,542 by Vergos Auctions at Zappeion Hall in Athens on Thursday (June 1). It was the highest price ever achieved internationally for a Tsarouchis painting, AMNA reported.

-The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed up 2.21% on Tuesday (June 6) boosted by hopes that the Greek economy will soon obtain investment grade.
