-The Greek economy increased by 1.9% in Q1 and 2.6% in Q2 2023 compared with the same periods in 2022, and by 0.1% and 1.1% on a quarterly basis, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said.
-A European Parliament Eurobarometer report shows that 87% of Greeks believe their standard of living will decrease in 2024. Approximately one third of both European citizens and Greeks said that they struggle to pay their bills.
-Creditors are given the possibility to request an advance payment of up to 10% of the debt, after the improvement regulations incorporated in the new law passed on Tuesday by Parliament, Kathimerini reported.

Greek shipowners control 31.27% of the world’s oil tanker fleet and 15.79% of the chemical and petroleum product transport fleet, being the biggest “players” internationally in the tanker industry, according to the latest annual report of the Hellenic Shipowners’ Association.

The metro station at Syntagma square in Athens will be closed on Thursday (Dec. 7) morning after 11:00, at the orders of the police, due to the visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
