The interest rate spread between new deposits and loans increased to 5.94 percentage points in August, as the weighted average interest rates on new deposits and on new loans increased to 0.39% and 6.33% respectively, the Bank of Greece said.

An aircraft carrying 81 Greeks from Israel, amidst a brutal escalation of violence between Palestinian militant group Hamas and the Israeli military, arrived early on Monday at Athens International Airport According to the Greek Foreign Ministry, out of the 149 registered Greek visitors, 81 were repatriated on this specific flight. There are three daily commercial flights from Israel to Greece, so that the remaining individual visitors will gradually return.
CULTURE
An app named “Chronos” supported by Greece’s Culture Ministry, can show how the ancient Greek monuments looked earlier, just by pointing the camera of a smartphone at them. The app works on the famous Parthenon temple, the adjacent Roman theatre and parts of the Acropolis Museum.
