About 7.2 million euros was charged in the first half of 2023 to debit and credit card holders due to the 31% increase in fraud incidents which raised the amount “embezzled” from cards to €12.5 million (an increase of 29% compared to the second half of 2022), data published in the Financial Stability report of the Bank of Greece, showed.
TRAVEL
-The Greek island of Paros is featured in the list of three Destinations of the Year for 2024, according to Expedia’s Unpack ’24 report, which presents the motivations and most popular destinations for travel in the coming year.
-Traffic restrictions will be introduced early on Saturday (Nov. 11) morning and stay in place until late afternoon on Sunday (Nov. 12) due to the annual Authentic Marathon race and other smaller races over the weekend in Athens.
-The Romanian Tourism Fair kicked off on November 9 and is being held till November 12 in Bucharest. Participating travel agencies offer discount of up to 50% for vacation packages in many countries including Greece, according to the organiser Romexpo.
