ECONOMY

-The Overall Industrial Production Index in February 2024 recorded an increase of 1.6% compared with February 2023, according to the latest data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

-The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March 2024 compared with March 2023, increased by 3.2%. In March 2023, the annual rate of change of the CPI was 4.6%, ELSTAT data showed.

-Greece’s Public Power Corp. (PPC) on Wednesday announced the the completion of the acquisition of the Kotsovolos electric and appliance department store chain in the country from UK-based Currys. The acquisition comes after PPC purchased Italian utility Enel’s activities in Romania last year.

-The 9th annual Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) will be held from April 27 to May 1 in the town of Nafplion in Argolis. The Show is jointly organized by the Greek Yachting Association and the Municipality of Nafplion and is under the auspices of the Ministries of Tourism and of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy.

CULTURE

A 7th century BC oenochoe (wine jug) that had been removed from Greece during the German occupation in World War II was returned by the Municipality of Hanover and the August Kestner Museum, the Greek Ministry of Culture announced.
