POLITICS

First electoral results, on 10% of ballot count, ready 1.5 hrs after voting ends, said Singular Logic. An 80-90% of results will be available between 21:00 and 22:00, noted the company. Greeks heads to polls on Sunday (May 21) to elect a new parliament.

ECONOMY

-The European Commission has forecast Greek economic growth rates of 5.9% in 2022, 2.4% in 2023 and 1.9% in 2024.

-In 2022, most reservations in Thessaloniki hotels were made by Greeks (50%), followed by Israelis, Americans, Germans, Romanians and Cypriots, according to the Thessaloniki Hoteliers Association (THA) and GBR Consulting.

-Greece submitted a third request to the European Commission for disbursement of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Fund (RRF), worth 1.72 billion euros, AMNA reported.

-Almost €622 million in loans from the Recovery Fund received by Greece so far has ended up in the hands of a few large companies while SMEs are struggling to get money from the banks, the Documento journal reported.
