ECONOMY
-Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, with a portfolio value of 1.7 trillion dollars, has holdings in 36 listed companies on the Athens Stock Exchange.
-An auction of 26-week T- Bills was held on Wednesday, amounting to 500 million euros, the Public Debt Management Agency announced. The yield stood at 3.09 percent. Total bids of 985 million euros were submitted, exceeding the asking amount by 1.97 times.
-Greek market experts are forecasting a 15-20% rise in the price of basic goods, coffee, and cocoa in September according to a report in To Vima.
-The auditors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) found that 52 online retails concealed more than 18.5 million euros in revenues in the first half of the year, Naftemporiki reported.
AGRICULTURE
The Naxos potato, a product of protected designation of origin (PDO) is facing historically low yields amid drought and failing infrastructure, which will force the island to import potatoes for the first time on record this autumn, according to a report at OT.gr.

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale occurred on Thursday, at 03:19, on Rhodes island, according to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens.
CULTURE
Ancient Greek antiquities, sites, and the Archaeological Museum of Marathon were not damaged by the recent destructive fire in East Attica, but two post-Byzantine churches sustained significant damage, the Ministry of Culture said in a statement.
TOURISM
-The biggest fear of Greeks when travelling is having their luggage stolen, damaged or lost, the Revolut Travel Research survey revealed. Greek women are more concerned than Greek men (50% vs 41%).
-In June 2024, arrivals in tourist accommodation establishments amounted to 5,317,221 and nights spent amounted to 23,128,841, recording an increase of 3.6% in arrivals and of 2.5% in nights spent when compared to the corresponding month of 2023, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) data showed.
