The regional unit of Phocis, named after the ancient region of Phocis, is part of the region of Central Greece. Stretching from the western mountainsides of Parnassus on the east to the mountain range of Vardousia on the west, upon the Gulf of Corinth, the regional unit is best know for the archaelogical site of Delphi -the ancient oracle through which Apollo was speaking – the Corycian Cave which is located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, and the Parnassus National Park, which is home to some of the most stunning natural landscapes in Greece.
