Reconnect with nature at Eurothirama

Away from large crowds and mass tourism spots, Eurothirama, an idyllic agritourism retreat set amid the unspoiled beauty of Greece’s Evros regional unit, offers the chance to come into contact with the nature and be part of an authentic village community.

Located 2 km from the village of Pentalofos in the municipal unit of Orestiada, the year-round Eurothirama boasts one of the largest breeding farms in Greece and features a guesthouse, a restaurant, and a seasonal outdoor swimming pool with a cafe/bar.

The biggest part of the farm which was established in 1997, is a wide open space, allowing guests to observe animals in their natural environment, and enjoy the warm hospitality as well as many local traditional products.

Roes, deer, wild boars, partridges and pheasants reproduce in large numbers and enrich habitats and hunting areas.

The traditional guesthouses were established in 2004 to meet the accommodation needs of the farm. They are built out of stone and wood, perfectly in harmony with the natural environment. The rooms, spacious and comfortable, have all the amenities, (fridge, kitchen ,TV) and are also fireplace equipped. They all offer spectacular views.

In the restaurant, fresh traditional deer-based stews, wild boar barbecue dishes and pheasant dishes, together with locally-made wine or raki are served. Only in-house or locally sourced organic ingredients are used. Authentic, rustic and delicious.

Pentalofos (meaning five hills) is a traditional village high up in the hills of northern Evros, close to the border with Bulgaria. The landscape in the area is peaceful with vast plains and hillsides.
