Zakynthos, (or Zante) is the third largest of the Ionian Islands and its nickname is “the Flower of the Levant” (flower of the East) as there are over 7,000 species of flowers on the island. It is also a separate regional unit of the Ionian Islands region, and the only municipality of the regional unit, housing the world-famous Navagio (Shipwreck) beach.
